Having a background in business or NGO, the founders of EQUALIS have understood how important education can be to professional and individual accomplishment. The EQUALIS Foundation is a pioneering initiative that plans to draw protagonists from academic and business environment, in order to improve the quality of future generations by offering students with financial issues a chance to education.

Ludovic Robert and Walid Abboud are two of the founders of A&D Pharma (Mediplus, Sensiblu), actively involved in its management between 1994 and 2002. They have been non-executive managers of the holding since October 2006 and also founders of the private equity fund GEMISA and the pharmaceutics company OZONE. Furthermore, they have set up other companies in different countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (mainly pharmacy and distribution).

Denis Penoy, the President of the Foundation, has a background focused on social, academic and humanitarian. He coordinated various humanitarian projects and led missions of the organization Doctors without Borders in India and Romania, and he also set up and managed for two years a recruitment company in Bucharest. He is one of the founders of “Samusocial din Romania”, which he managed as president for almost three years.

Today, the three founders wish to offer the Romanian students the same opportunity they had themselves in the past, when they were able to finish their studies thanks to this kind of social loans.
